ভিকিটিয়ার গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মাইলফলক অর্জন  

বাংলা ভাষায় চালু হওয়া নতুন উন্মুক্ত অনলাইন বিশ্বকোষ ভিকিটিয়া (https://bn.vikitia.org) সম্প্রতি একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মাইলফলক অর্জন করেছে, ১ অক্টোবর ২০২৪-এ যাত্রা শুরু করার পর মাত্র কয়েক সপ্তাহের মধ্যে  ১০০০ টি বিশ্বকোষীয় নিবন্ধ তৈরি করেছেন বিশ্বকোষটির স্বেচ্ছাসেবকেরা, যা বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাস, সংস্কৃতি এবং বৈশ্বিক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়গুলো সম্পর্কে লেখা। ভিকিটিয়া একটি উন্মুক্ত প্ল্যাটফর্ম, বাংলা ভাষাভাষী মানুষের জন্য একটি ব্যাপক জ্ঞানভাণ্ডার তৈরি করতে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। উল্লেখ্য যে, ভিকিটিয়া হলো বাংলাপিডিয়ার পরে দ্বিতীয় বাংলাদেশী বিশ্বকোষ, ভিকিটিয়ার ব্যতিক্রম হচ্ছে  সেচ্ছাসেবকপ্রাণ এই প্ল্যাটফর্মটিতে যে কেউ যোগ দিয়ে  তথ্য সংযুক্ত করা থেকে শুরু করে সম্পাদনা ইত্যাদি করতে পারেন, তবে কপিরাইট যুক্ত কোনো লেখা সংযুক্ত করতে অনুৎসাহিত করা হয়। ভিকিটিয়া মূলত ক্রিয়েটিভ কমন্স অ্যাট্রিবিউশন/শেয়ার-আলাইক লাইসেন্সের অধীনে তথ্য প্রকাশ করে।  ভিকিটিয়া প্রতিষ্ঠাতা করেছেন পরভেজ হুসেন তালুকদার, যিনি একজন তরুণ কবি ও ইন্টারনেট উদ্যোক্তা। ভবিষ্যতে, ভিকিটিয়ার প্রতিষ্ঠাতারা আরও বেশি স্বেচ্ছাসেবকদের অংশগ্রহণ আশা করছেন, যাতে বিশ্বকোষটি আরও বিস্তৃত এবং স্থায়ী জ্ঞানভাণ্ডারে  হতে পারে। বাংলাদেশ সম্পর্কিত বিষয়গুলিতে বিশেষ গুরুত্ব দিয়ে, ভিকিটিয়া এই অঞ্চলে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ শিক্ষামূলক বিশ্বকোষ হয়ে উঠতে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে।

Vikitia: A New Open Encyclopedia from Bangladesh Reaches 1000 Articles

Vikitia, a newly launched open encyclopedia in the Bengali language, has achieved an important milestone, reaching 1,000 articles within just a few weeks of its inception. Launched in October 2024, Vikitia covers a wide range of topics, including Bangladesh’s history, culture, and other global subjects of encyclopedic importance.

Vikitia is an open platform, encouraging contributions from volunteers to create a comprehensive source of knowledge for Bengali speakers. It was founded by Parvej Husen Talukder, a prominent young poet and journalist from Bangladesh, who also serves as the encyclopedia’s first administrator.

Md. Joni Hossain, the second administrator, played a crucial role in establishing the encyclopedia’s policies. His efforts helped shape Vikitia into a structured and reliable source of information. By developing strong editorial guidelines, Joni ensured that Vikitia maintains the quality and integrity of its content, making it a trusted platform for learning.

“We aim to make Vikitia a respected and well-organized resource for Bengali-speaking communities around the world,” said Parvej Husen Talukder. “With Joni’s help in forming our policies, we believe Vikitia is on the path to becoming a valuable source of knowledge.”

The name “Vikitia” was chosen to reflect a unique identity while also following in the footsteps of established knowledge platforms like Vikidia, a well-known encyclopedia aimed at children and teenagers.

As Vikitia continues to grow, the founders hope to expand the encyclopedia with more contributors, ensuring that it becomes a lasting resource for generations to come. With a special emphasis on topics related to Bangladesh, Vikitia is poised to become an essential educational tool in the region.
